Mr. Zia Uddin Mahmud and Mr. Latiful Azam were pioneers in organizing this group during COVID 19 times in 2020-2021. We organized many online meetings and Dua events in 2021 and 2022In 2021, some retired REB officers living near Dhanmondi gathered at Sampan restaurant to honor Abdul Momen’s return from the USA. Later, a breakfast party was organized on the rooftop of Mahfuzur Rahman sir’s residence in Uttara in 2022, and a larger breakfast was held at a restaurant in Uttara. A lunch was also arranged at the Uttara club, sponsored by Hafizur Rahman bhai upon his return from the USA. In 2023, a grand gala get-together took place at Mirpur DOHS restaurant, sponsored by former REB officers from the Mirpur area. In February 2024, an adda was held at Palm View restaurant with self-contributions. Subsequently, on 14-12-2024, a grand reunion was organized at Palm View restaurant, sponsored by Shahid Uddin Ahmad and 86 ex-officers’ self-contributions. This raised the question of forming a structured institution. After a detailed discussion, a core committee of four members was formed. In January 2025, this committee established a 13-member Interim Executive Committee, which drafted the constitution of the REB Ex Officers Association (REOA). Members of REOA are those who have retired, resigned, or left REB as officers.
